Orlando hotel occupancy at 74.5%

Orlando hotel occupancy for the week ending April 2 was 74.5 percent, down 4.6 percent from 78.1 percent occupancy in the year-ago period, Smith Travel Research reports.

The average daily room rate for the area was $99.12, a 6.2 percent increase from $93.37 charged per room for the same week in 2009.

Revenue per available room — an indicator of the hotel industry’s health — was up 1.2 percent to $73.86 from $72.95 from the week of April 2, 2009.

I am curious about what the Motel occupancy rate is?

Each of Theme Parks Attendance?  Going up, down, or remaining the same?

Are America's travelers coming to Orlando?  Not Traveling?  Going somewhere else?

Are people coming to Orlando more? Not traveling?  Going other places?

These are the questions reporters should be focused on.

Central Florida's economy is tied to the theme parks.  Those parks are not picking up and going somewhere else anytime soon.  If they move then another park will come in and take over.  Their bottom line is determined by the worlds view and confidence in Central Florida.
